Kwh energy meter is defined as the meter which is used for measuring the energy utilized by the electric load. The energy is the overall power used by the load at a particular time interval. For measuring the power consumption it is used in domestic and industrial AC circuits. The meter is very accurate and is less expensive. Working on the Energy Meter The energy meter consists of an aluminum disc whose rotation helps you in determining the power consumption of the load. Between the air gap of the series and shunt electromagnet, the disc is placed. On the magnetic field of the current coil, the field induces by the voltage coil is lagging by 90º because of which eddy current is induced in the disc. A force on the disc is exerted by the torque that is produced by the interaction of the eddy current and the magnetic field. Hence, the disc starts rotating. To the current and voltage of the coil, the force on the disc is proportional. Their rotation is controlled by the permanent magnet. The schneider kwh meter is very reliable. Construction of Energy Meter There are four main parts of the energy meter. They are the
Driving System – In the driving system, the electromagnet is the main component. It is the temporary magnet that gets excited by the current flowing through their coil. Registration (Counting Mechanism) –Recording the number of rotations of the aluminum disc is the main function of the registration or counting mechanism. In the kilowatt-hour, the energy used by the loads has a direct proportion with their rotation. Moving System – The moving system is the aluminum disc that is mounted on the shaft of the alloy. In the air gap of the two electromagnets, the disc is placed. Because of the change of the magnetic field, the eddy current is induced in the disc. The magnetic flux cut this eddy current in the single phase kwh meter. Follow us on Facebook
